Discriminatory: SC on Parsi women's exclusion from religion over inter-faith marriage

Supreme Court responded to a petition by a Parsi woman barred from entering a fire temple and attending her parents' last rites because she married a Hindu man. "It's virtually excommunication...The right of conscience...is a right by birth...it can't be taken away by marriage," Justice BV Nagarathna said. She called the practice "discriminatory" as it doesn't apply to Parsi men.
