Disney to hire most of Character.AI's staff, days after startup files for bankruptcy

Disney has reportedly agreed to hire most employees of US-based startup Character.AI, days after it filed for bankruptcy. Under the agreement, Disney will pay an estimated $60 million in annual compensation to at least 60 employees from the startup. The deal comes after former Character.AI CEO Karandeep Anand was appointed as Disney's first Chief Technology Officer last month.
