Disney to incur $1.5-bn impairment charge for removing content

The Walt Disney Company will record a $1.5-billion impairment charge in its fiscal third quarter financial statements for removing certain produced content from its direct-to-consumer (DTC) services. Last month, it removed several movies and shows, including 'Willow' and 'Dollface', from Disney+ and Hulu. The company estimates it may incur further impairment charges of approximately $0.4 billion.
