Disney's streaming chief Kevin Mayer resigns to become TikTok's first CEO

Kevin Mayer, the Chairman of Disney's direct-to-consumer and international business, is stepping down to become the first CEO of video-sharing app TikTok. He has also been named as the COO of TikTok's Chinese parent firm ByteDance. Alex Zhu, the current TikTok President, will transition to ByteDance VP. Mayer's role involved overseeing Disney's streaming strategy, including the launch of Disney+.
