Dissolvable 3D-printed patch may transform skin cancer treatment
Researchers at Queen's University have developed a dissolvable 3D-printed microneedle patch designed to deliver curcumin and 5-fluorouracil directly to localised skin cancer. The technology could make treatment more targeted, less painful and minimally invasive, while reducing repeated topical applications, needle-stick risks and medical sharps waste, although further clinical testing is needed.
