DNA of carrots, peanuts, wheat found on burial cloth believed to have wrapped Jesus Christ

International researchers have found DNA of food, including carrots, bread wheat, peanuts, tomatoes and maize, on Shroud of Turin, burial cloth believed to have wrapped Jesus Christ. They analysed samples collected in 1978 and concluded the cloth had been heavily contaminated over centuries. Presence of New World crops like tomatoes and maize points to contamination after 1492, the study said.
