Doctor runs eye care camps in rural Guj, performs 30,000 free surgeries

Surat-based retina specialist Bhavin Patel has spent last five years taking eye care to rural Gujarat through his trust, which he established in 2021. The initiative conducts nearly 40 eye camps every month and has facilitated over 30,000 free surgeries, including around 1,000 cataract surgeries monthly. Its goal is to identify eye conditions early and prevent avoidable blindness in villages.
