Doctors' working hours are inhuman, some do 36-hour shifts: CJI Chandrachud

During the hearing on the 31-year-old doctor's rape-murder in Kolkata, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Chandrachud said, "We're deeply concerned about the inhuman working hours of resident doctors...Some doctors work 36-hour shifts." He added, "36 or 48-hour shifts are just inhuman!" The apex court directed National Task Force that it formed recently to regulate medical professionals' working hours.
