Dog owners told to rinse pets' urine from trees in Vienna

A neighbourhood in Vienna has asked dog owners to rinse away pets' urine from tree barks using bottled tap water. The guidelines said animal urine corrodes tree bark, weakening its protective layer and potentially letting corrosive pathogens and fungi penetrate the trunk. Owners can pick up a free 270ml water bottle to rinse areas used by their dogs.
