Don't politicise poll panel: BJP MLA on report of internal rift

BJP Maharashtra MLA Ram Kadam asked the opposition to not politicise the Election Commission of India after a report claimed that two Election Commissioners had objected to steps of the SIR process. "The poll panel is a constitutional body…it cannot become a hub of politics," Kadam added. Several opposition leaders criticised the Election Commission and the SIR after the report.
