'Doomsday Clock' moved to 90 seconds to midnight, closest ever to catastrophe

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists reset the symbolic 'Doomsday Clock' to 90 seconds to midnight, the closest to global catastrophe it has ever been. It's largely, but not exclusively due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and increased risk of nuclear escalation. The new time was also influenced by continuing threats posed by climate crisis and biological threats like COVID-19.
