Downright undemocratic: Venugopal on govt's FCRA Amendment plans

Congress leader KC Venugopal called the Centre's plan to re-introduce the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) Amendment Bill during Parliament's Monsoon Session "downright undemocratic". "This shows that they will trample upon people’s rights and happily go against public sentiment," he added. The amendment gives Centre the power to seize assets of NGOs which lose their licence.
