DR Congo Ebola outbreak death toll crosses 2,000

The Ebola outbreak in DR Congo has killed more than 2,000 people, with 4,381 confirmed cases and a 45.9% fatality rate. Over 700 patients remain under care, while 869 have recovered. The outbreak has spread across five provinces, with Ituri the epicentre. WHO says the virus may have been circulating months before detection.
