Dr Toby Kiers awarded 'Nobel for Environment', wins ₹2.26 crore cash prize

Dr Toby Kiers has been awarded 2026 Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement for her "pioneering research into underground fungal networks and their critical role in sustaining life on Earth". She will receive a cash prize of $250,000 (over ₹2.26 crore). Her research focused on mycorrhizal fungi that link plant roots together through underground networks, often called "wood wide web".
