DRDO conducts successful trial of indigenously made high-altitude airship at 21 km
DRDO successfully conducted a flight trial of its indigenously developed High-Altitude Platform System (HAPS), reaching 21 km above mean sea level. The platform remained at 20 km for over 30 minutes before descending and being recovered. Developed by ADRDE, Agra, the lighter-than-air system is designed for long-endurance stratospheric aerial surveillance. The trial involved the IAF, DGCA and AAI.
