DRDO sub-machine gun clears Defence Ministry trials, can be inducted

A sub-machine gun designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully undergone the Defence Ministry's user trials. This has paved the way for the gun's induction into the armed forces, the Defence Ministry said. The 5.56x30 mm Joint Venture Protective Carbine (JVPC) is a gas-operated semi-automatic weapon with over 700 rounds per minute rate of fire.
