DRDO successfully tests 'SMART' anti-submarine missile system

India successfully conducted trials of the Supersonic Missile Assisted Release of Torpedo (SMART) anti-submarine missile system off the coast of Odisha's Balasore on Wednesday. "SMART is a next-generation missile-based light-weight torpedo delivery system, designed and developed by DRDO to enhance the anti-submarine warfare capability of the Indian Navy," the Defence Ministry said in a statement.
