DRI seizes 5.83 kg gold worth ₹8.98 cr in Visakhapatnam

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 5.83 kg of foreign-origin gold worth ₹8.98 crore from a Kolkata-Hyderabad car in Visakhapatnam. The gold, smuggled via the India-Bangladesh border, was hidden in a fabricated cavity under the front seat. Two persons were arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Investigation is ongoing.
