Driver who rammed Mumbai teen and left her in coma 9 years ago fined ₹20,000

Mumbai court fined a driver ₹20,000, about nine years after an accident left a 17-year-old girl in a vegetative state for months. Considering that accused, PN Poosaripadaiyachi, was a first-time offender and his financial condition was poor, the court took lenient view. The accused, now 66, hit Nidhi Jethmalani near Churchgate in 2017 while driving the then railway commissioner's car.
