'Drowning girl' statue pops up suddenly in Spain sparking alarm

A statue of a young girl which appears to be drowning has unsettled locals in Spain since it popped up suddenly in Bilbao's River Nervion. Created by Mexican hyperrealist artist Ruben Orozco, the 120kg fibreglass figure gets submerged and uncovered each day as per the tide. The statue, titled 'Bihar', meaning 'tomorrow' in Basque, aims to encourage debate around sustainability.
