Drugs containing more than 12% alcohol won't be available over the counter: Govt

The Centre has placed oral medicines containing over 12% ethyl alcohol and sold in bottles larger than 30 ml under Schedule H1. Such medicines will no longer be available over the counter and will require a valid doctor’s prescription. Pharmacies must also maintain details of their sale for three years, the government said.
