Duolingo won't 'force' employees to use AI, scraps AI-based performance reviews

Duolingo CEO Luis von Ahn said the company will no longer evaluate employees' AI usage in performance reviews. Stating that Duolingo won't "force" employees to use AI, Ahn added that the important thing for employees is to do their jobs "as well as possible". Duolingo faced backlash last year over an "AI-first" shift and plans to phase out contract workers.
