Dy Election Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti sent back to parent cadre before completing 1 year

The 1998-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, Gyanesh Bharti, who had served as Deputy Election Commissioner in the ECI since August 25, 2025, has been repatriated to his parent cadre and appointed Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. His tenure was scheduled to end on June 18, 2028. He was DEC in-charge of West Bengal during the 2026 Assembly elections.
