E-commerce platforms must audit, eliminate dark patterns: Minister

Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Wednesday chaired a high-level stakeholder meeting over dark patterns in digital commerce. He directed all e-commerce firms to conduct self-audits to identify and remove dark patterns. "Companies must not wait for the Central Consumer Protection Authority to intervene. They should proactively recognise and remove these deceptive practices," Joshi said.
