Early onset of periods cause more height gain in puberty: Study
Girls who experience early onset menstruation grow significantly taller in puberty than previously thought, according to a Swedish study tracking nearly 800 women. Girls starting periods at or before 12 grew by nearly 13 centimetres, while those reaching puberty around 14 grew by only 3 centimetres. Researchers also found that a higher childhood BMI is linked to earlier menstruation onset.
