Earth gets a mini 'Moon'

Earth has gained a temporary mini 'Moon' in form of 1–2-metre-wide asteroid named 2026 QQ8, which is expected to stay with our planet until December. It was pulled into Earth's gravitational grip in April 2026 but was first spotted by Hungarian astronomer Krisztián Sárneczky in August. Initially, scientists were unsure whether it was natural asteroid or human-made space debris.
