Earth is the hottest it's been in 20 lakh years: Dr Ghosh

Global temperatures are now higher than at any point in the last 20 lakh years, climate expert Dr Arunabha Ghosh said on the podcast. Burning coal, oil and gas since the Industrial Revolution has filled the atmosphere with carbon dioxide, he explained. These gases form an 'envelope' that traps heat, turning Earth from a greenhouse into a hot house.
