Earth may have had a ring like Saturn, evidence found: Researchers

Researchers found evidence suggesting Earth may have had a ring system which formed 466 million years ago, similar to Saturn's rings. The hypothesis stems from plate tectonic reconstructions for Ordovician period, noting the positions of 21 asteroid impact craters. The craters are located within 30 degrees of the equator, despite over 70% of Earth's continental crust being outside this region.
