EC delists 86 'non-existent' unrecognised political parties
The Election Commission of India on Tuesday delisted 86 Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPP) that were found to be non-existent. Further, it declared 253 RUPPs as 'inactive', noting that they've not contested a single election either to the state general Assembly or the Parliament election 2014 and 2019. The EC barred these parties from availing benefits of Elections Symbol Order.
