EC halts Bengal Guv Bose's Cooch Behar tour, cites violation of poll code

The EC has halted West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose's proposed tour to Cooch Behar on April 18-19. According to reports, EC stated that the tour would be during the 'silence period', which would be in violation of MCC. The silence period refers to a 48-hour break from all forms of campaigning, in constituencies about to go to polls.
