EC imposes Sec 144 in WB's Bhatpara after poll violence

The Election Commission on Monday imposed Section 144 in West Bengal's Bhatpara Assembly constituency for an indefinite period following violence in the area during the assembly by-election on Sunday. Clashes reportedly broke out between workers of the ruling Trinamool Congress and BJP when the by-elections were underway. Section 144 prohibits an assembly of more than four people in an area.
