EC removes Bengal DGP, Kolkata Police Commissioner day after poll dates announced

A day after the announcement of Assembly polls in West Bengal, the Election Commission on Monday removed Director General of Police (DGP) Peeyush Pandey and appointed IPS officer Siddh Nath Gupta in his place. It also replaced Kolkata Police Commissioner Supratim Sarkar with Ajay Kumar Nand. EC also replaced Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty and Home Secretary Jagdish Prasad Meena.
