EC to introduce QR-code ID cards at counting centres from May 4

The Election Commission (EC) will introduce QR code-based identity cards at counting centres to avoid unauthorised entry from May 4. The system will be implemented during the counting of votes for the Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. This new security system will be extended to all Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, EC added.
