ECB chief to retire early to let Macron choose her replacement before his term ends: Report
European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde is intending to retire before her term ends in October 2027, reported Financial Times. Lagarde, who joined ECB in 2019 from IMF, wants French President Emmanuel Macron to elect her replacement before the end of his term, it added. Bank of France Governor also retired early so that Macron can choose his replacement.
