Economist Surjit Bhalla resigns from PM's Economic Advisory Council

Economist Surjit Bhalla has said he resigned as a part-time member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister on December 1. The Economic Advisory Council was revived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2017 in a bid to bring in reforms to the financial system. This comes a day after Urjit Patel resigned as RBI Governor.
