Economist who died in 2024 features in NCERT's reply to SC on Class 8 book row

In an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court in response to criticism of the Class 8 social science textbook, NCERT listed late economist Bibek Debroy among 19 members of a "high-powered" committee responsible for developing textbooks for Classes III to XII. Debroy's inclusion in the list suggests the committee hasn't been reconstituted since his death in November 2024, IE reported.
