Eggs thrown at police van carrying arrested TMC leader in Bengal

People allegedly threw eggs at a police van taking away Kolkata Municipal Corporation councillor Swapan Samaddar from Sealdah court. He was arrested last week on charges of extortion, threats, and post-poll violence linked to the 2021 Assembly elections. The TMC leader was also among the accused in the alleged murder of BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar in Beleghata in 2021.
