El Niño 2026 already much more powerful than in 2015, 1997 and 1982

The developing El Niño of 2026 is showing signs of becoming more powerful than previous super El Niño years 2015, 1997 and 1982. New sea-surface temperature data from the Nino 3.4 region shows that temperatures have reached unprecedented levels for this time of year. By June 17, temperatures were more than 0.58°C above the previous daily record, reported India Today.
