Elderly woman killed in Shivamogga after iron beam falls

An 83-year-old woman died near the Chandragutti Sri Renukamba Devi temple in Shivamogga district after an iron beam from a shed fell on her during heavy rain and strong winds. The victim had attended a puja ceremony with relatives. The storm also damaged houses, uprooted electricity poles and disrupted power supply across several villages in Soraba taluk.
