Election Commission extends deadline for SIR in five states/UTs

Election Commission (EC) has extended the deadline for filing and resolving objections related to Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal, Puducherry, Goa, Lakshadweep, and Rajasthan. Deadline for filing and resolving objections has been extended to January 19, 2026. EC stated the decision was taken based on requests from Chief Electoral Officers of the five states and Union Territories.
