Elephant calf refuses to leave dead mother's body in K'taka

A heartbreaking scene unfolded in Kodagu, Karnataka, after an elephant calf refused to leave the body of its dead mother in a private coffee estate. Forest officials separated the calf to conduct a post-mortem, which found the 30-year-old elephant died of severe spinal injuries and internal bleeding. The orphaned calf later wandered around the spot, moving locals to tears.
