Eli Lilly tests therapy that can permanently cut bad cholesterol & stop heart attacks

Eli Lilly announced positive study results for a gene therapy named 'VERVE-102' that can edit the PCSK9 gene to permanently cut levels of LDL cholesterol, also called bad cholesterol, and prevent heart attacks. A single dose of VERVE-102 cut PCSK9 levels by 51-88% and lowered bad cholesterol by up to 62%. Both levels remained curtailed for up to 18 months.
