Elon Musk-led group makes $97.4 billion bid for control of OpenAI

A consortium of investors led by billionaire Elon Musk is offering $97.4 billion to buy the nonprofit that controls OpenAI. It is an attempt by Musk to block OpenAI from transitioning to a for-profit firm. The consortium led by Musk includes his AI startup xAI, Baron Capital Group, Emanuel Capital and others.
