Elon Musk talked to SoftBank in 2017 for Tesla investment

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his counterpart at the Japanese conglomerate SoftBank, Masayoshi Son, held talks in April 2017 to discuss an investment in Tesla. The talks also included a discussion on taking Tesla private, but the two did not reach an agreement over the ownership. Musk reportedly proposed a disproportionate structure that granted him 'supervoting' rights at Tesla.
