Eloping can bring 'bad name' to families: HC as it denies police protection to live-in couple

Punjab and Haryana High Court, while refusing police protection to a live-in couple, observed that while such relationships are increasingly adopted by a section of Indian society, children who run away from home may bring a "bad name" to their families. The woman claimed that her family is harassing them and has threatened to implicate him in a false case.
