Emergency fundraising, tech IPOs lead to record high banker fees
Emergency corporate fundraising by sectors such as airlines and demand for tech initial public offerings (IPO) led to record high fees for investment bankers, data from Refinitiv showed. Overall, bankers made $28.7 billion from equity capital markets fees, which is the biggest annual sum ever. Fees for IPOs in the US also hit a 13-year high of $10 billion.
