Emerging economies should prepare for economic turbulence: IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that emerging economies should prepare for potential bouts of economic turbulence as US Federal Reserve prepares to raise interest rates and economic growth slows due to the Omicron variant. The variant has led to a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases globally since last month. The IMF will release updated economic forecasts on January 25.
