Emma Watson auditioned eight times for role in Harry Potter

British actress Emma Watson auditioned for the role of Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' series eight times, when she was nine years old. The series author, JK Rowling, wanted Watson for the role since Watson's first screen test. The actress, who has also appeared in 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower', turns 27 today.
