Employee union to go to labour dept over Wipro firing 452 freshers

A union of IT employees, the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), said it will be approaching the labour department days after Wipro confirmed that it fired 452 freshers for performing poorly on internal assessments. NITES called the layoffs by Wipro "unethical" and said that it "strongly condemned" them. The freshers were offered jobs but were yet to be onboarded.
