England broke the record for their highest seventh-wicket partnership in Test cricket history during their first innings against New Zealand in the third Test. Jonny Bairstow and Jamie Overton shared a 241-run stand to set the record. The previous record was held by Mike Smith and Jim Parks, who shared a 197-run stand against West Indies in 1960.
